Blue Tango is Lynne Gough (vocals and percussion) and Dave Richard (vocals and guitar). No other sounds (they minimalist vulnerability!). Their name comes from the million-selling instrumental hit of 1952. It was a tango in blues form played by a classical orchestra– a great example of the rich mixture typical of great pop music. So Blue Tango points to their love of jazzy popular music. They see ourselves as part of the current ‘retro chic’ phenomenon which includes Diana Krall, Harry Connick Jr, Norah Jones, Michael Buble and the huge success of the Rod Stewart Great American Songbook series of CDs.
