What do you get when you cross the Arts and Crafts Movement with the difficult realities of gold rush Castlemaine?  You get some very special Mothers and Aunts!  Come raise a teacup or glass to the ladies Leviny, Waterhouse and Brotherton – the resourceful women whose endeavours gave us Buda Home and Gardens and the Castlemaine Art Museum.  Be inspired by their stories and honour your own female role models at Buda House this Mother’s Day.  Presented by Sarah Frazer of the Castlemaine Art Museum.

Sarah spent many years navigating the labyrinths of museums, libraries and archives.  She creates stories that express her love for the natural world and reflect on the human condition.  They often start in nature journals, where words and images simmer and fuse, mix with ingredients stashed in her pockets from a background in both art and science.
