Picnic at Buda

Why not make a day of it at Buda and have a picnic! A viewing of this historic home of the Leviny family is a must for lovers of the Arts and Crafts movement, heritage gardens and Gold Rush architecture. A gentle stroll around the grounds could be capped off with a picnic lunch on the lawn overlooking the township or listening to the aviary birds while seated at our comfortable tables in the courtyard.

Picnic Boxes at Buda

Our picnic boxes are packed to the brim with picnic favourites made by small-batch artisans in and around Daylesford and Castlemaine, and each box includes a unique picnic keep-kit with picnic tools for you to keep, including a calico tote bag so you can take all your leftovers and rubbish with you. You can also choose to add on a bottle of local wine, cider or a range of locally-made non-alcoholic drinks, but please note: glassware is not provided so you’ll have to bring along your own.

Select from either a gourmet or taster box, with gluten free and vegetarian options. We can also tailor your picnic box to cater for most other special dietary requirements (e.g. vegan) – just get in touch with us before you order so we can arrange the details with you. Order ahead via the links below, and we’ll deliver your box directly to the Buda reception on the morning of your visit, so all your have to do is turn up! Admission still applies to the House and Garden.
