SUMMARY:Traditional Arts Fair Workshop – Duang's Classic Thai Cooking
DESCRIPTION:Our new series of Traditional Arts Fair Workshops \nBOOK NOW\nI love to cook and share my love of cooking. It is an experience of the heart\, mind and senses. \nAfter sixty years of fine tuning how to make food taste as good as it can be\, I concluded that good food comes from good ingredients. Nothing can be better than fresh\, local\, seasonal and\, whenever possible\, organic foods. \nAll classes will be partially hands on and partially show and tell. In order to maximise your experience\, classes are limited to a maximum of eight participants. This creates a class environment that is friendly\, casual\, interactive and intimate. \nThis workshop will be held in our Garden Room kitchen and will allow a maximum of 8 people to allow for social distancing. \n \nA Complete Thai Dinner: My intention for this class is to provide tools and tricks for everyone to feel confident in understanding and creating a Complete Thai Dinner for family or guests. I will show and explain the basic essentials of a Thai pantry\, where to get them and how to use them. Then together we will make an appetiser\, at least three main dishes: curry starting with making the paste\, another method of cooking protein\, and a vegetable dish which may be a salad or a cooked vegetable. Cooking perfect rice is also essential in this class. Of course\, no meal is complete without dessert. \nPossible dishes include (but may change if ingredients are not available) \n\nThai fish cakes with sauce\nRed curry paste for steamed custard curry\nSom Tum salad using seasonal Australian vegetables and fruit\nVermicelli salad\nJasmine and rice medley\n\nDessert \n\nTub Tim Krob (crunchy ruby) in sweet coconut sauce\n\nProduce used: \nMost of the ingredients will be from surrounding farms\, local\, seasonal and fresh. We use organic produce whenever possible. Some ingredients will be from the garden less than 10 metres away from the kitchen. \nClass Hours and Sharing of food and beverages: \nAll classes start at 10:30am and typically runs for 4 to 4 ½ hours. A light snack is served with homemade kombucha on arrival. \nAfter class\, we will sit down and enjoy lunch together with your beverage of choice:  wine\, beer or homemade kombucha. \nClass and Booking Policy: \n\n\nMaximum number of participants = eight. \n\n\nIf too few participants have registered\, the class will be cancelled with a full refund offered. \n\n\nIf you need to cancel\, please do so up to one week prior to the class date; otherwise a refund will not be available. \n\n\nOther information: \n\n\nWear comfortable clothing with toe covered shoes. \n\n\nAprons and knives are provided in class. If you have your favourites\, please bring these along. \n\n\nBOOK NOW
