The Contemporary Textiles Award 2012 will have two categories

Section 1: ‘INSPIRED BY BUDA’ where entries must reflect some aspect
of the Buda Historic Home or Garden

Section 2: ‘GOLD’ where entries must include a significant representation
of the colour gold


WORKSHOPS FOR THOSE INTEREST IN ENTERING THE ‘INSPIRED BY BUDA’ SECTION WILL BE HELD IN
AUGUST 21, OCTOBER 2010, JANUARY, APRIL JULY AND SEPTEMBER 2011

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WILL OPEN IN FEBRUARY 2012

INPSIRED BY BUDA WORKSHOPS

Workshop: Saturday 21st August 2010
10.30am – 1.00pm (lunch provided)
Cost : $30 which includes one free entry into the Award.

At this workshop activity you will learn a little of the culture of Buda and have the opportunity to chose themes for translation into a textile form, which are to be found throughout the house and garden, for example: patterns on China, inlays in tables, motifs on picture frames, the hedge.
You will have the opportunity to sketch and/or photograph those objects which may ‘inspire’ your entry.
